5th WSOP Bracelet for Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu dominated the WSOP APAC Main Event on 16th of April and collected $1,038,825 along with his fifth golden WSOP bracelet for his accomplishment.
Inaugural WSOP Asia-Pacific poker festival took place in Melbourne, Australia, and the main event attracted a total of 405 players. Benny Spindler, Russell Thomas and Winfred Yu also made it to the tough final table, but in the end Negreanu defeated his heads-up opponent Daniel Marton to score the first WSOP main event victory of his long and decorated career.
The heads-up began with Negreanu holding a commanding 10-1 chip lead, but Marton soon managed to double up his stack. After some time, the players finally got all the chips in the middle once again, and this time, Negreanu’s pair of deuces held against Marton’s A 7 of spades.
With his five bracelets, Daniel Negreanu now joins the list of poker royalties that includes Stu Ungar, Allen Cunningham, Scotty Nguyen, Jeff Lisandro and John Juanda.
