Despite having left Betsson, former CEO Magnus Silfverberg is still a reliable source on what’s going on at the online casino giants and it looks like their period of growth is nowhere near ending. Betsson have focused on acquiring key players within the online gaming world in order to consolidate the industry and become a true powerhouse.
Silfverberg states that the company is focusing on a double ended strategy, consisting of organic growth as well as international acquisitions.
“We are looking out for non-Nordic, preferably locally regulated or to be locally regulated revenues, so that’s our focus right now [and] we are listening to all proposals that come our way.
Part of our strategy has been to really broaden our geographical footprint and improve our regulated mix and the acquisition of Europe-Bet is an important step and there might well be more steps to make.”
For a long time now, Betsson has been collecting brands to add to their collection with big names such as Betsson, Nordicbet, Betsafe, CasinoEuro and way more, including the newest addition, Europe-Bet, based in Georgia. We can expect to see many more new names being added to the pile, most likely, as Silfverberg suggested, non Nordic facing companies in order to expand their presence in the rest of the world.
