CDN news series from the heart of gambling

Every year ICE and LAC attract the who’s who of the gambling industry and make London the focus of all operators, suppliers and players alike; where celebrated game releases like NetEnt’s Southpark slot are really only the tip of the ’ICEberg’.
This time around, the team of Casino Daily News (CDN) decided to make the most of it and send a reporter crew armed with camera. The first objective was to carry all the excitement of this trip to the heart of online and land-based gambling back to your electronic device of choice.
In the weeks to come, CDN will present you with interviews, news and background stories gathered during the exciting days of ICE Totally Gaming 2013 and LAC (London Affiliate Conference for iGaming).

Portfolio Director of ICE 2013, Kate Chambers, on ICE and its recent developments.

First up is ICE Totally Gaming 2013, which lasted from the 5th to the 7th of February and took place at the ExCel exhibition center in London. This massive event brings together exhibitors and visitors from all major areas of the gaming industry: online and land-based software and hardware providers, gambling regulators, payment providers and manufacturers of savvy technical solutions. Basically, there was a stand for everything you could think of.

Interviews with the giants of the business

ICE 2013 had hundreds of exhibitors spread out over an area the size of a small town, which created a surreal sea of blinking colorful lights full of tens of thousands of floating visitors.

Among many other people, we spoke to representatives of such online gaming providers as NetEnt, Sheriff Gaming, Quickspin, Rabcat, Leander Games and so on. We also got a chance to meet with land-based slot giants like the Austrian Novomatic or the American Bally, WMS and IGT.

Insights from service providers across the industry

We asked the representatives of the Isle of Man and the island of Alderney what they were doing to provide a safe environment for their gambling community. Companies like Konami, Skrill and many others gave us insight into their daily work and their thoughts on ICE.

Then was the London Affiliate Conference (LAC) for iGaming. This event featured less hardware but offered a chance for the casino and iGaming operators as well as service providers in general to introduce themselves to potential partners, showcase their products and talk about their plans for the near future. This is, without a doubt, the best place to find out all about the new and upcoming features of all your trademark casinos and more.

Meeting Casinomeister’s Bryan Bailey

At LAC we spoke to representatives of numerous casinos: Tropezia Palace, ComeOn, RedBet, Casumo, Harry Casino, MrGreen, Vera&John, to name a few. We even enjoyed a brief chat with the legendary casinomeister Brian Bailey and were truly enlightened by the panel discussion presided by him and titled „Inside the player’s mind“.

Stay tuned to Casino Daily News because in the upcoming weeks we will indulge you with stories and interviews with the gaming giants as well as the masterminds behind new games and innovative solutions that represent the driving force of the industry.
