The new agreement between gaming industry leaders will have them collaborating on many levels and across multiple gaming platforms. This deal is basically a renewal of the old agreement since Playtech has already been supplying Betfair with online casino and bingo solutions. The new contract also includes future plans to offer poker services – this indicates that Betfair might be thinking about leaving the Ongame poker network.
Both casino and bingo will be running on Betfair’s existing mobile platforms and online websites. Betfair is licensed by the Government of Gibraltar and is supposedly the world’s largest online betting exchange.
Playtech offers software solutions like: games, transaction management, hosting and customer services for online casinos. The products in its portfolio include; online casino, bingo, mobile gaming, fixed odds, live gaming and iPoker network.
These gambling powerhouses are already planning to launch a licensed poker room for the Spanish market some time this year. The same will be done in Italy after Betfair launches its operations on the Italian market.
Management of Betfair and Playtech had the following to say about the new contract extension:
“Betfair has built a strong relationship with Playtech over a number of years and after a full evaluation of the available options, they were the logical choice for providing us with what we now need,” said the Group Operations Director at Betfair, Ian Chuter.
Rafi Ashkenazi, the Chief Operating Officer for Playtech, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our successful relationship with Betfair with the development of bingo and poker services in addition to casino. The agreement is testament to Playtech’s ability to offer a full suite of market leading online products and we look forward to continuing to work with Betfair.”
