HTML5: A new milestone for Microgaming

Microgaming is leading the wagering world by taking the initiative to develop games using the HTML5 coding and revamping some of their most successful video slots such as Tomb Raider, Roulette and Blackjack games using this new platform. The platform makes it possible to play on any device with sharper images and more smoothly streaming video.

The technological change that the HTML5 coding brought about in the online world made major companies like Facebook and Microgaming, among thousands of others, reinvent their engines and start anew. The new coding makes it possible to enhance content for desktop and mobile devices and make it faster and even easier on the eye than before.

This move has already resulted in increasing financial revenues, now that Microgaming have reproduced some of their most successful games, and scheduled 11 new aggressive games to be released in the upcoming months for their affiliates, such as Mr Green and RedBet.

Previously Microgaming used to develop casino apps based on the Adobe Air mobile system, successfully used by their licensee Spin Palace Casino, among several others. Now the company is already working on the new HTML5 platform to replace these old apps for its casino licensees to make a fresh start.

HTML5 vs. Native Apps

HTML5 may come to signify the death of gaming apps, which are no longer needed since anyone can play on their smartphone or tablets without having to download anything, regardless of what operating system they use. This means that most gaming apps on iTunes and Google Play may become obsolete in the nearest future.

The new HTML5 code allows software operators like Microgaming to make it easier to play live casino content directly on your smartphone and link it to social media platforms, bringing not only a new breed of games but a completely new gaming experience. (Don’t worry, Zuckerberg and your friends will not know you’re playing online, unless you decide to make it public on your wall.)
