Andorra, a tiny little country strategically located at the heart of the Pyrenees, has now joined the ranks of Europe’s gambling regulated markets by legalizing both land-based and online gaming operations.
Famous for its flourishing economy and for its sunny yet covered in snow scenery, Andorra attracts everyone’s attention with its skiing resorts, duty-free status (tax haven) and winter getaway spots.
Now this little country up in the mountains has legalized brick-and-mortar casinos and online wagering sites, although the gambling draft bill is set to be signed very soon.
With barely 85,000 people living within its boundaries, Andorra has already granted licenses for online gambling in the past, however, there wasn’t a legal act listing parameters of taxes, permissions or liabilities for these betting sites. Until now.
The country is still to verify its draft gambling bill, and there have already been conversations and plans surrounding the opening of land-based casinos to boost tourism in the nearest future.
