Not long ago Cole Konrad retired from MMA, leaving behind an empty throne and a division with no title holder. The search for the new champion will begin on October 5th, when The Venue will be held at Horseshoe Casino in Indiana. This tournament will feature heavyweight quarterfinals of season 7 and many local talents.
Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said: “Residents of Chicago can expect a great evening of fights, as the Horseshoe Casino is usually sold out and the heavyweights bring explosive power and huge knockouts to the show”.
The main event will be a long awaited rematch between Eric Prindle and Thiago “Big Monster” Santos. These two giants were supposed to meet at Bellator 62, but Santos experienced some weight issues and was forced to back out of the fight. Fight fans can expect a good old fashioned slugfest when the heavyweights clash at Bellator 75.
Also scheduled is a bout between Brett Rogers and Russian heavyweight Ruslan Magomedov. Brett “Da Grim” Rogers made a strong Bellator debut, when he defeated Kevin Asplund. Now he is set to take on a Bellator first timer and top Russian fighter Ruslan Magomedov. Both of these fighters are well known for heavy hands and fans can expect a serious battle from them.
The preliminary fight card also sees Chicago’s Chase Beebe return to the Bellator cage. Chase is armed with deadly submission skills that have earned him 16 victories via a submission. The young Chicago native will hopefully put on a great show in front of his friends and family.
