In a Nutshell
Garage is a busy little slot from Novomatic, the online slots’ component of Austrian games developer Novoline.
It’s a 5-line, 9-payline game with a garage-based theme as its name suggests.
A Closer Look
Garage has symbols which follow the theme, with car batteries, crates, oil cans, car keys, sparkplugs and other motoring paraphernalia screeching round the wheels, and some alerting sound effects as well.
You can bet anything from 1 to 225 credits, and the Wild symbol is a bunch of car keys. These substitute for anything apart from the Scatter symbol (see below).
All of this is watched over by a chilled mechanic slurping form a bottle and smoking a cigarette, while a ginger cat dozes away on a pile of tyres!
Bonus Game Features
If you get 3 or more Scatter symbols, namely a wooden crate, you’ll be taken to the bonus screen, where you are presented with 3 more boxes to open.
If they contain a saw, a hammer or a wrench you’ll get extra points which convert into higher winnings.
But watch out, get a traffic-cop type figure holding a stop sign and you have to do exactly that — stop, or at least go back to the main game (unlike some other Novomatic game there is no extra bonus screen after that).
Special Features
Garage also has the signature ‘gamble or collect’ feature which Novoline/Novomatic put on a lot of their games.
This is triggered every time you have a win in regular play, where you get the ‘take or risk’ option, which, if you risk it, opens up a video poker type screen, where you can double your winning on the last spin if you beat the dealer’s card from one of the remaining 4 (including Jokers).
You can continue to double up each time for as long as you like unless you either lose to the dealer or decide to claim your winnings. You then go back to the main screen.
If you choose ‘take’, you just bank the winnings you got from that payline.
