Sports betting isn’t like a sprint, but more like a marathon. If you go too fast at the beginning, you’ll end up dead.
You shouldn’t bet too quickly without thinking, as you might end up broke faster than you think. Take Nick “The Greek” Dandolos as an example. He was a full-time gambler who became influential and famous in Las Vegas, known for playing hard and for investing millions of dollars, even before Elvis was famous. But Vegas (and all the money he had made) quickly slipped through his fingers.
At the end of his life he had gone bankrupt and was spotted playing poker in Gardena, California, barely betting five dollars. Some fellow players started mocking him for betting so little, when he had once played for millions, he replied:
“Hey, it’s action, isn’t It?”
He was quite right.
Take it a bit back, and don’t play too hard. Take it easy if your bet goes bad. It is often better to lower your bets until you get back on track again.
The same applies to sports bets, especially during the UEFA Champions League. It is quite a challenge to place good bets on teams from different countries when you don’t have a lot of statistical data to lean on.
I have made the following bets:
CSKA Moscow at home against Manchester City goal +0.75 (+0.5 goals at half the stake and +1 goal on half the stake) to 2.18 (for 21 October).
