Recent reports have shown that some UK betting operators might be handling the introduction of the new online gambling point of consumption tax better than others. The introduced tax proposed new regulations set in motion to place the UK high court in a position where they can acquire a more significant revenue through the UK online gambling regulatory body.
A UK based information firm dubbed SimilarWeb have been able to provide the numbers detailing which UK online operators fared the best in terms of online traffic, search terms and player engagement. Doing particularly well are - Coral, Paddy Power and William Hill. All four successfully increased their monthly online desktop traffic under the first half of 2015.
The entire industry has shown trends towards being more mobile, as general sports and casino desktop search term traffic has decreased by 23%, while mobile search terms have increased by 44% annually. Although this trend has not kept entirely true for all brands, where 10Bet, TitanBet and Bwin have seen steady decreases in mobile traffic search terms and instead seen steady growth on their desktop platforms.
