No more truffles for RedBet

The Belgian Gambling Commission (BGC) has added RedBet and Pkr.Com to its blacklist of banned unlicensed betting sites, with fines reaching up to €100,000.

The BGC is continuing with its policy on banning unlicensed online operators from offering their wagering services to Belgian punters, now counting redbet.com, pkr.com, pkrcasino.com, klavercasino.com and goldencherry.com.

This new addition forces Belgian Internet Service Providers, or ISPs, to block access to any of these sites from Belgium.

Unlike its neighboring Netherlands, Belgium only allows licensed land-based casinos to offer games online.

Another option for online wagering companies is to have a partnership with an existing Belgian casino in order to receive the .be site license and approval. Some successful examples of this have been Bwin.party.be and circusbet.be, which are now licensed and allowed to offer their poker and casino games in the country.

RedBet may comply with this legal requirement and look for a local partnership in order to continue offering its services in Belgium.

As of today, the Belgian blacklist counts 69 online gaming sites, banned from offering their services within Belgium’s online web.

Punters who had registered and made deposits on any of these sites have 40 days to withdraw their balances from their accounts; afterwards players will not have access to any of these sites from Belgium, and will not be protected under the Belgium law.
