The European Poker Tour schedule for March has been confirmed and will be taking place in London. The event will last for 11 days, from the 5th until the 16th of March, and, for the first time, will bring together the UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) and the European Poker Tour (EPT), which will be open to players of all levels.
The eleven-day event will be divided in 37 competitions and will include over 2000 players from the entire world with more than ÂŁ7 million in prizes.
The event was last held in London in 2011, when German wunderkind poker player Benny Spindler took home £750,000. This year marks the return of the world’s poker community to the UK capital city.
Place: The EPT will be held at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino, a famous betting venue that holds some of London’s most admired poker rooms.
Additional venues:Â Due to the increasing number of participating players, the London Hippodrome Casino will host the PokerStars Live poker lounge, and will also serve as a side venue for additional tournaments.
Kick-Off Event: The UKIPT will start with a ÂŁ770 buy-in kick-off game and a ÂŁ2,150 side event for high-rollers.
Main Event: The European Poker Tour will include a £5,250 buy-in main event and a side-competition with a £25,000 guaranteed prize pool. There will also be a £10,300 EPT High-Roller event, a £550 no-limit Deepstack match, a £550 PokerStars Women competition and a £2,100 buy-in no-limit Turbo game.
Live broadcasting: The whole event will be broadcasted live on TV, including a live-webcast anchored by James Hartigan, Joe Stapleton and a host from PokerStars Pros, which includes many former poker players. Viewers will be able to take part in on-line voting schemes and decide which tables or players they would like to see during the show.
Victoria Coren, member of the Team PokerStars Pro and EPT season-3 winner, said, I am very excited that EPT London is returning to the Vic, where it began. I think the atmosphere there will be fantastic. It’s where I won my own EPT title, so I hope it’ll be lucky for me.
