The seventh annual WSOPE festival will be held at the Casino Barrière Enghien-les-Bains. This historic establishment is the oldest casino in France and is situated next to a nice lake in the greater Paris area.
The 2013 WSOPE festival will last from the 11th to the 24th of October. The whole casino complex in the suburbs of Paris has recently undergone some serious renovation and upgrading. For instance, this resort is now home to the Spark, which is the #1 ranked Spa and wellness centre in Paris.
Poker players will feel comfortable at state-of-the-art convention and conference facilities, which are roomy enough to seat the field of an entire tournament in one single room. The players who make it to one of the final tables will play in a nice theatre room, which seats 500 spectators and is equipped to support high quality TV production. The complex also includes two hotels and several gourmet dining establishments. Add all of these facilities together and you get the most comfortable tournament location in the seven-year history of the WSOPE.
WSOP Executive Director, Ty Stewart, said:
Part of our vision for WSOP Europe is to mix poker and pleasure – and introduce players to some of the most exciting destinations in Europe. Barrière’s facilities in Enghien are amazing and there are likely 12 million Parisians all trying to make sure “Phillipe” Hellmuth doesn’t win another bracelet on French soil. With our ideal dates scheduled to avoid conflicts for traveling players, expanded TV coverage and qualifiers planned, we expect to be back in record-setting mode in 2013.
The exact tournament schedule is yet to be published, but it is expected that there will be seven bracelet events and numerous non-bracelet side events. The €10,000 main event promises to be a worthy crown for the WSOPE festival.
Last year, the festival took place in Cannes, and from 2007 to 2010 it was held in London.
