IN A NUTSHELL
Casino Saga is a new (only 6 months old, in fact, at the time of writing) casino, which is focused very much on the Scandinavian market.
What’s that, we hear you groan, ‘not another Scandinavian-oriented casino, how come they get all the goodies?’.
Well, whilst it’s true that there have been an awful lot of new casinos popping up specifically tailored to the Nordic market to add to the already-crowded marketplace (for a region with a combined population of just a little over 20m – taking Scandinavia to be Norway, Sweden and Finland) these do all have something unique to recommend them, which we’ll outline below.
Further, Casino Saga is provided in English as well, hinting that players from other markets round the world, particularly Britain and other English-speaking countries, are also more than welcome.
What sets it apart from the pack are its novel approach to rewarding customers – you get a ‘hero’ to play as from a list of predetermined characters (something like an Avatar) and progress by playing games (the ‘saga’ of the casino’s name) unlocking points for yourself as you go.
Casino Saga is run by a youthful team which looks set to grow – give them a spin!
WELCOME BONUS
As you might expect from a dynamic, new casino with a twist, they aren’t shy about welcoming new players.
But it’s no bait and switch con either.
The casino builds up its bonus in increments, depending on how much you deposit.
Oh, and it’s all free spins, folks, at the moment, which has the advantage of not having to decide which games to play or about wagering requirements (though the wagering requirements are set out clearly in the terms & conditions, so we expect welcome bonuses to change over time including bonus money).
And the Free Spins are on good games too, all NetEnt blockbusters!
If you deposit as little as €10 in you initial deposit, you get 25 Free spins on the popular Secret of the Stones slot!
Deposit €20 up to €49 and that jumps up to 60 Free Spins on Lights, another NetEnt game, as well as Secret of the Stones.
The Free Spins are further structured as follows:
- €50-€99 - 120 Free Spins on Secret of the Stones, Lights and Greedy Goblins, from Betsoft.
- €100-€199 – 175 Free Spins on the above 3 games PLUS Free Spins on one of the NetEnt games of the year last year, South Park.
- €200+ – 250 Free Spins on the above 4 games PLUS Big Bang.
You will be able to find more information on how the Free Spins are divided between the games on the Casino Saga site.
OTHER BONUSES
There were no other bonuses on offer at the time of writing; however given Casino Saga’s rather proactive approach to its Welcome Bonuses and player involvement, we’re confident that we will have to review and rewrite this section in due course!
LOYALTY PROGRAM
We noted this at the beginning, but Casino Saga has a very novel approach to rewarding its players.
Essentially you progress on a journey, accruing experience points (XPs) with all the games you play.
But you aren’t on your own – each level brings you to another ‘region’ in the saga, where you must do battle with the ‘boss’ of that region. He or she also has XP points – if you overcome the ‘Boss’ you’ll unlock a prize; however if you don’t have sufficient XP points to do that, fear not, you will simply be bumped back to the previous level, and will have the chance to have another go at the Boss when you have accrued more XP points.
And your (and other players’) progress is measure and published on the site!
SOFTWARE PROVIDER
Some casinos only carry one provider, which can often make for a rather generic look and feel.
Conversely, other casinos carry games from little-known or somewhat less cutting edge developers, which hardly makes for a scintillating experience either.
Fortunately Casino Saga does neither of those things, hosting as it does games from both NetEnt and Betsoft, hardly companies which need any introduction, but just in case you’ve not heard of them, they are more or less the 2 biggest players out there, and are responsible between them for the lions share of not only the most exciting (and lucrative) slots of the last few years, but produce some pretty mean table games as well!
What more could you ask for!
GAME SELECTION
As noted, with 2 of the biggest software providers on the planet being fully represented at Casino Saga, the gaming experience is second to none.
There’s a great slew of slots – over 130 of them; there are casinos who have a larger selection than that, but in all honesty are you always going to have the time to sort out the wheat from the chaff and find a game which is good for you?
130 is a good number including both the big names like Starburst (NetEnt) and SugarPop! (Betsoft).
And they have the selection of other games to match – some 10 versions of Roulette, about 20 types of Blackjack catering to different bankrolls and types (eg. multi-deck, single-deck etc.) Video Poker including the all-important Jacks or Better, and other less well-known games like RedDog Progressive.
JACKPOTS
Casino Saga do not at the time of writing have any apparent progressive jackpots on offer, but the games they do have are noted for their generous and transparently-published Returns to Player (RTP).
You can also filter the slots by category, including ‘Jackpot’, ie. the most highly paying-out games, which would include the immensely popular Reel Rush.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Again Casino Saga have kept it quite simple here, which means you don’t have to turn into Burridan’s Ass in deciding which provider to choose…
At the same time they are trusted and solid methods, which will be viable in most jurisdictions:
- Credit card – Visa and Mastercard has most of the market covered, this tried and tested method allows you to keep a secure record of all your transactions and is rapid too.
- Bank Transfer – usually a bit slower than credit card, nonetheless this is also a secure way to pay and can be done from practically anywhere.
- Neteller – this reputable and well-established eWallet service is a secure and more anonymous way to make payment; you pay into your eWallet and then from the eWallet to the casino (and vice versa)
Since Casino Saga is quite a new player on the block, we can expect to see the list of payment methods available to grow, but in the meantime these should be enough for the prospective player.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Casino Saga has a contact form to fill in which will either function as LiveChat, or you will get an email response at busy times. There is also a comprehensive FAQs section (in native-standard English) and the mandatory responsible gaming info, presented in a novel way.
Truly a place for heroes!
